About The Vessel
The Cap’n Kid is designed with safety in mind. Our boat is a 50 ft. U. S. Coast Guard Certified Vessel. It is equipped with all the required safety equipment and has all the latest electronics for navigation and fish finding. We have plenty of comfortable seating on board. Snacks, water, soda and juice are available for a minimal charge or you are welcome to bring your own.
The Cap’n Kid is also equipped with a clean restroom. Our boat also has a fully enclosed cabin for your additional comfort. The Cap’n Kid’s two Detroit Diesel engines were rebuilt by Fairhaven Shipyard. The boat is now equipped with 1,300 horsepower and can cruise at 18 knots when needed.







All of our Captains are U.S. Coast Guard licensed
with many years of boating and fishing experience.
Captain Carl
Captain Carl has been a licensed Captain for over 20 years and has fished on Nantucket Sound for over 20 years. He has a Masters degree in Marine Transportation from the State University of New York Maritime College at Fort Schuyler.
Captain Carl holds an unlimited tonnage Masters License. During the winter months he is a Captain aboard a 900 foot container ship, the APL Belgium, that sails from the West Coast to Dutch Harbor Alaska, Japan, South Korea, and China, stopping at various ports in between.
Captain Chris
Captain Chris has been running boats out of Saquatucket Harbor on Cape Cod for over 30 years. He holds a 100 Ton Masters License from the US Coast Guard. He is an electrical engineer with experience in marine systems. He is the founder of HMS, a local marine repair service, and has been involved with the systems design of custom yachts.
In addition to running his Charter boat, Haywire, and the Cap’n Kid, he has also been Captain on one of the Nantucket Ferries, as well as working on a local tug boat.
